Second Obama Inaugural Speech Makes LGBT History
After taking the oath of office for his second term, President Obama included in his Inaugural Address: â€śOur journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law -- for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well.â€ť

Changing Face of the Courts
The Superior Court in Alameda County now includes three LGBT judges: Judge Tara Flanagan (elected June 2012), Judge Kim Colwell (appointed by Gov. Brown in December 2012), and Judge Victoria Kolakowski (elected November 2010).
