So just what is this Law of Attraction and how can you apply it to your life in order to live your best life possible? While there are many ways of explaining the LOA, I think one of the best examples is a line most of us have heard at one point in our lives: garbage in, garbage out. In its simplest terms the Law of Attraction is about harnessing the incredible power of your thoughts with the understanding that those thoughts will attract like energy.
In other words, if you are focusing on the fact that you cannot pay your bills then the universe will respond in kind. If, however, you are focused on financial gain or certain plans you’ve developed in order to increase the kitty, the universe will also respond in kind. This is not some sort of new age mumbo-jumbo. The Law of Attraction is a scientific and universally accepted phenomenon that like energy attracts like energy.
So you have to ask yourself what kind of energy are you putting out on a daily basis? Are you filled with joy and gratitude, or are you one of those people who constantly focuses on the negative? Focusing on the negative will most certainly result in more negative -- and if you take a look at your own life you can probably see how this has manifested itself at different stages. When I was lecturing on the radio show about this incredible life-changing experience, I likened the power of positive thinking to throwing a pebble in a lake. The ripple effect is something you have probably experienced over and over in your life -- the question we should all be asking ourselves is what kind of pebbles do I throw into the lake every day? Is the energy that I emit the kind of energy that I wish to attract?
The beauty of this universal law is that you can change your life around with it. There is nothing to buy, there is nothing to subscribe to, and there is nobody who can dictate the power, strength, or positivity of your own thoughts except for you. Think of the incredible power in this! Think of all of the amazing moments that happened throughout history because of somebody’s single thought. Your thoughts can make you more powerful. Your thoughts can fill you with joy. Your thoughts are arguably the greatest weapon you have in this world -- so maybe it’s time to evaluate the kind of thinking you do each day, each week, before bed, when you wake up.
Think about how liberating it will be to release the negative energy you carry around with you. Many modern physicians are beginning to see the impact that negative thoughts have on our physical beings. There has been a great deal of research on the impact stress has on our bodies. Not only is this liberating, but when we realize that we are in complete control of the thoughts and the energy we put out into the universe, we begin to change. We begin to grow more confident. We begin to experience joy on a completely different level. One of the other beauties of this universal law is that you can apply it and see it in action an hour from now. You can see what happens when you react completely differently than you would normally react when someone cuts in front of you at the grocery store. You can see how you feel when you close your eyes to go to bed at night and you think of all the wonderful things that happened to you during the day that you are grateful for. You can see how your days transform when you wake up in the morning and say to yourself, “Today is going to be a great day because I am going to___.”
What kind of ripple effect do you want to see in your life today? Right now? Your thoughts are your choice. If you believe that like energy attracts like energy, then consider carefully what energy you wish to put out into the world.
Wake up tomorrow morning -- grab a pebble of joy and laughter-- throw it into the middle of your life-- and just see if you don’t experience one of the best days you’ve had all month. You have everything to gain and not one damn thing to lose by transforming your thoughts into thoughts of greatness!
Go be great!
